FANTASY THEATER TO PRESENT LEWIS CARROLL’S “ALICE IN WONDERLAND” June 10-19, 2011

Chatham Community Players’ Fantasy Theater, the Theater for Young Audiences branch of CCP, is presenting Lewis Carroll’s “Alice in Wonderland” adapted by Madge Miller. This imaginative and magical production opens Friday, June 10 and running through June 19. Kari A. Cooper directs.

ImageThis one-hour version takes Alice (and the audience) through a maze of incredible adventures while she searches for the Queen’s stolen tarts. Along the way we meet many of Wonderland’s beloved characters which have been endeared to everyone by Lewis Carroll's memorable story and its many previous adaptations. Intermission will feature snacks based on the story and children will have an opportunity to meet the characters following the show.

“I am so excited about this cast! They are a truly talented multi-generational ensemble and what they have created here is simply magical. I can hardly wait to share it with an audience! It is a treat for the kid in all of us”, said Director Kari A. Cooper

This imaginative production will take you deep into the rabbit hole back with a diverse and talented cast made up of Anya Gunewardena from Summit as Alice, Lionel Ruland from Parsippany as White Rabbit, Brittany Goodwin from Cedar Knolls as Cheshire Cat, Chaz Turner from Hackettstown as Mad Hatter and N. Kent Loudon from Somerville and Jacqueline Pothier from Summit as the King & Queen of Hearts. Rounding out the cast is Juliette Reilly from Berkeley Heights Claire Harpel and Rose Chrin from Short Hills Charlie and Sarah Thompson from Chatham and Carmine Burdi from Basking Ridge.

Producer David Simon adds that "ALICE IN WONDERLAND is one of those special tales that never grows old and works on many levels making it a perfect show for families to enjoy together. The fantastical story and characters will greatly appeal to younger children while Lewis Carroll’s brilliant toying with words and logic will entertain older children and adults."
