The Chatham
Community Players Joint Theater program provides independent study opportunities for Chatham High School juniors and seniors. It is a cooperative program with the school's theater department combining classroom knowledge with supervised practical theater experiences.
On Golden Pond (1990)Selected students receive high school credits for both on and off stage participation in Fantasy Theater as well as Mainstage productions. Students assume leadership
roles in stage management, sound, lights, costumes, props, stage crew,
and acting, working with experienced committee heads and directors in
a community theater setting. Our teens truly make a valuable contribution
and become an integral part of our theater.
Interning Gets Results!

Many of our interns
have gone on to major in theater in college and to pursue theatrical careers
after graduation. One of our graduates became head of the costume shop
at Fordham University, while still in her sophomore year. She also returned
to Players to design the costumes for our Mainstage production of One
Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.
Last year, another of our interns won the Rising Star Award in Stage Management from Paper Mill Playhouse - a first for Chatham student.
