Grand Horizons Auditions

The Chatham Players will hold auditions for hilarious and heartbreaking play, “Grand Horizons” by Beth Wohl on Monday, July 31st and Tuesday August 1st at The Chatham Playhouse 23 North Passaic Ave. Chatham, NJ at 7pm. Actors must check in to the auditions by 7:30pm. If necessary, Callbacks are scheduled for August 2nd at 7pm. Production dates are October 20 – November 4, 2023 with rehearsals to begin early September. Sharon Garry of Cedar Grove directs.

Bill and Nancy have spent fifty full years as husband and wife. They practically breathe in unison, and can anticipate each other's every sigh, snore, and sneeze. But just as they settle comfortably into their new home in Grand Horizons, the unthinkable happens: Nancy suddenly wants out. As their two adult sons struggle to cope with the shocking news, they are forced to question everything they assumed about the people they thought they knew best. Funny, shocking, and painfully honest, Bess Wohl's new play explores a family turned upside-down and takes an intimate look at the wild, unpredictable, and enduring nature of love.

Director Sharon Garry seeks 7 actors (20’s to Late 80’s). Actors will be asked to read from sides provided at the audition, these are available now below under "Event Documents".

Actors that are unable to attend the auditions on July 31st or August 1st can submit a video file of their audition.  Only actors submitting for Nancy and Bill should use the “Video Submission Monologues”. If you are auditioning for other roles, please refer and use the sides for that specific character.

Please be aware that video files over 20 MB may be blocked by some email mailboxes. If you have a link to your video, we ask that you send the link using Dropbox, Google Drive or similar way. Please email video file to casting@chathamplayers.org with “Grand Horizons Audition Video” in the Subject Line.
